The property consists of just five luxurious rooms on the 1st floor of an elegant building dating back to early 1900, located in the heart of the city centre two minutes’ walk from Agrigento’s central train station. It was created with the desire to offer its guests a refined and comfortable alternative to hotel accommodation, while ensuring a high standard of quality and service.

Serenity and privacy characterise your stay despite the fact it is located on the centre’s most elegant and panoramic street. Villa Bonfiglio opposite offers you the chance to enjoy a relaxing walk through its gardens, as well as providing breathtaking views of the wonderful Valley of the Temples of Agrigento and the vast Mediterranean Sea. There are many places nearby offering a variety of options to spend your free time.

Restaurants, bars, ice cream parlours, wine bars and pubs are only a short stroll away along the tree-lined Viale della Vittoria. It is also the ideal starting point to discover the old town with its many churches and buildings, as well as museums and art galleries. The main shopping streets, cinemas and theatres are also very close. In the small lobby you will find advice and information to help organise your trips; we are able to tell you about the best restaurants and bars in the city so that you get the most out of your stay and avoid any unpleasant surprises those without a guide may experience. We take great pride in being able to satisfy any requests our guests may have.

The Historical Residence

Euterpe L.H.T. is a residence with a rich and fascinating history. Between 1905 and 1915 a rich textile merchant from via Atenea began to collect paintings from his artist friend Francesco Lojacono: a renowned exponent from Palermo of the Southern “realist” trend, today seen as one of the greatest Italian masters of nineteenth century landscapes. In the following years, the collection was enriched with works from the Master’s pupils and followers: De Maria, Bergler, Marchesi, Mirabella, De Francisco and Camarda.

In order to accommodate the important artist’s paintings, this noble building was built in the 1930s and became, besides an art gallery, a family residence. Later, the collection of over 100 paintings was donated to the City Council. Today the collection is housed in the halls of the former building of the Filippini located in via Atenea, near the Town Hall.

There you can admire the magnificent paintings by Lojacono: genuine “windows in time” through which you can enjoy the splendour of the Sicilian landscape of over a century ago, of which the artist portrays the true essence, so much so that he earned the nickname “Thief of the sun” for his ability to capture the rugged and sun-kissed countryside, the dusty roads, the porosity of the rocks, the reflections of the sea waves, the light and shade of the Saracen olive trees.
